In Rwanda, we say "Hobe," which means Hug, and it's how we welcome you into our vibrant community. Nestled in the scenic Rutsiro District near Lake Kivu, Hobe Coffee Company is a premier Rwandan coffee enterprise crafting exceptional specialty coffee while driving real socio-economic advancement.

Operating our own corporate farms, Kamasozi and Nyabirasi, we ensure meticulous, seed-to-cup quality control on every tree. Around them, we've built a network of 1,382 dedicated local coffee farmers, a community we serve as a vital processing and commercialization hub, turning raw coffee cherries into premium global exports.

From Garden to Cup

Our Process

Follow every coffee cherry on its journey: from seedling to harvest, through washing, drying, and fermentation, to a cup ready for the world.

Step 1

The Garden

Healthy Arabica Bourbon seedlings, nurtured in our own nurseries before they reach the hills of Rutsiro District.

Hand-Picked Harvest

Only ripe, red cherries are picked by hand, one by one, across our 1,382 partner farms.

Carried With Care

Cherries are carried down the hillside by the farmers themselves, within hours of picking.

Washing

Pulped cherries are fermented and washed in water channels and quality grades are separated.

Honey Processing
